Directions: Bring peanuts, sugar, maple syrup and water to a boil in a large sauce pan. Reduce heat to medium-high and boil until all liquid is absorbed (approximately 30 minutes). Preheat oven 300 degrees. Spread nuts on a lightly greased baking sheet. (Line the baking sheet with tin foil, shiny side down, for easy clean-up.) Sprinkle with salt. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven and sprinkle with more salt. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove baking sheet and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Serves 4. |
