Recipe of the Month - Beer Nuts

So you are having the guys over to watch a game ... gotta get the beer and munchables. Why not try this easy beer nuts recipe? Beer nuts are cheap to make and you could make tons! If you are feeling adventurous, go to the bulk food store to pick up the main ingredients. You just can't lose with this recipe.
Beer Nuts
Awww.. Nuts! Ingredients:
5 cups raw, shelled peanuts
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup (optional)
1 cup water
salt
Directions:
Bring peanuts, sugar, maple syrup and water to a boil in a large sauce pan. Reduce heat to medium-high and boil until all liquid is absorbed (approximately 30 minutes).

Preheat oven 300 degrees. Spread nuts on a lightly greased baking sheet. (Line the baking sheet with tin foil, shiny side down, for easy clean-up.) Sprinkle with salt.

Bake for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven and sprinkle with more salt. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove baking sheet and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Serves 4.
